My snot froze on the way to the grocery store this morning. That can't be good for a body. It is cold out. But I got my ingredients for my first slow-cook, so all is well. I kind of missed the part of the directions that said "serve with au gratin potatoes and a vegetable." So I'm serving BBQ with caesar salad and asiago cheese bread. I also added a bunch of spices, and only one onion instead of two. I think it will work out. Maybe I will take a picture of it when it's done.

I hope that everyone non-retail has the day off (like me :) for some year end pointless gallivanting; for those in retail, I hope your sales are all you hope for! Today's tasks include doing laundry, making my first slow-cook meal, watching the Badgers beat on the poor ducks (11am CST ESPN), and heading over to see GB Leighton at the Radisson tonight.

So I like the blogger way already. It's free, first of all, and a body can't beat that. Secondly, it's easy, and it works with my existing site. I could go and sign up for a new site if I didn't have one already, I think, and that would make it easy for anyone to get in to something like this. Blogger.com, try it.
Anyhow, I called in sick to work yesterday. Have a head cold. Was just a throat cold, but it got worse, probably because the Vikings played so horribly on Sunday. Oh well, the worst part is that the Packers beat us, so all them dang Packer Backers are going to call and write. That's the way it goes.
But I'm fired up for the start of a new tradition for the new year. I'm going to try weekly slow-cook meals, trying for every Tuesday but at least four times per month. Tomorrow Linds is coming over, maybe Mark too, for the kickoff. I'm going to try Easy Barbecued Beef recipe by Tracey Stenger from Gretna, LA. It's in my "Fix-It and Forget-It" cookbook by Dawn Ranck that I got from my bro last xmas... we'll see how it goes. Going shopping in the morning a'gonna brave the frosty walk!

Ok ok. I gave in. I'm going to try out blogger.com to see how much easier this is. I think it will be fun. Hopefully it will be a heck of a lot easier to manage, and maybe there will be a lot more fun stuff in here too. Please be patient until I get links and what not working again. I won't lose a thing I promise!
