Hypothesis on social flexibility
Not sure I have a proper title for this one, but I pose the following: all people, regardless of language spoken, measure somewhere on a scale (say a bell curve) of adaptability in their language, and where they fall on this scale is directly related to how easy they are to get along with.

Sorry, that is kind of confusing what I wrote there, it should be more simple. Basically, if you take someone out of their native area, generally they have an accent when they are with people from another area. For example, a Louisiana accent stands out in Minnesota, a Minnesota accent stands out in New York, and a New York accent stands out in Paris, or in Bangalore for that matter.

But, after time, the New Yorker will change their accent to be more in line with the local accent- The Louisianan will begin speaking more Minnesotan. If the amount of adaptation were measurable on a flat scale of 0 to 100, with 0 meaning no adaptation at all, I propose that this measurement of adaptability of language would be the same number as if you were to measure how firm or flexible an individual is in their personality.

For example, someone who is highly adaptable language wise would have a flexibile personality- open to new ideas, rarely stubborn in decision making, and only "stubborn" when there is a clear logical winner in an argument. "Sure I can stop down the hall to talk with you about that."

Some one who does not adapt would typically be extremely stubborn, regardless of logic. Their way of the world is The way, and other ways are simply wrong. "You must come here, and don't wear those brown shoes any more."

Most folks have some friends and acquaintances who have an accent of one kind or another. Some of these folks for me are "fresh off the boat", meaning they just got here from overseas, and justifiably have an accent. But some folks have been living in the upper midwest for years, and still have their accents. These folks for me are typically the most "my way or the high way" people I know, which is what leads me to this hypothesis.

Jefferson95.org
Changed host name from jefferson95.com to jefferson95.org. Really, I was trying to transfer Network Solutions to GoDaddy for the better pricing, and thought I could let it lapse to change over... oh well, someone else got it. But the .org is more appropriate anyways, just have to let folks know, and set it up on Google search probably.

Prosper
I like this Prosper peer to peer lending site. It is easy to make incremental investments, there is some risk but not crazy risk, and you can be sure you are rewarded the right % for the risk you want to take. The things the site could improve on are transfer times- it seems to take an extra day or two before the funds show up in your Prosper account; and monthly reporting- they've had some problems getting the monthly .pdf reports out. You can see all of your info online anyway, so don't know why the monthly reports are so problematic.
